About Me

PhD candidate in Evolutionary Biology @ LMU Munich

I am an evolutionary biologist and computational genomics researcher studying how much of the variation we measure in biological data is real, repeatable and biologically meaningful.

My current work focuses on DNA methylation, quantitative genetics and technical variation in large epigenomic datasets. I am very interested in studying the interplay between the genome, the epigenome, and the complex space between genotype and phenotype.

I find myself also flirting with non-biological systems like other forms of variation (inspired by Evolution in Four Dimensions) and the recent boom of AI and AI agents. I am fascinated in viewing all these systems through evolutionary biology lenses.

Alongside my research, I write and communicate science in Greek and English. Through long-form popular science essays, teaching, and public talks, I cover genetics, biodiversity, astronomy, and research culture, as well as the social dimensions of science, including identity, conservation, bias, and belonging.
